Position: Quantity Surveyor under Wilcon Corp.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quantity surveying process, from initial estimates to final costings. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with our project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budget proposals, and project schedules
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Monitor project costs and provide regular progress reports to management
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost planning and control
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify potential issues
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, and other legal documents related to the project
- Review and evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contracts
- Manage and maintain project documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards
- Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in cost estimating and budgeting software
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
