THE OPPORTUNITY

In the last three years, Plan International Philippines (Plan) has been implementing interventions to support marginalized young people from urban poor communities by increasing their participation in civil society and governance processes so that they are able to provide input in setting local policy.
Building on the lessons and good practices from previous projects, Plan International will be scaling-up key interventions through collaboration, cooperation, and strengthening of strategic partnerships with civil society organizations (CSOs) and advocate for more local government and community support that are accessible for young people.
The scale-up of interventions will be implemented in current partner communities and in selected communities in Eastern Visayas (Tacloban City) and Central Mindanao (Cotabato City) and in the National Capital Region.
In line with this project, Plan International invites competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.
The Project Officer will capacitate the children, youth, community stakeholders, and partners by facilitating situational analysis, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation (SAPIME) for the Urban Nexus Phase 2, a grant-funded project.
**Further, as the Project Officer**:
You will conduct a community diagnosis with community leaders/members to identify strengths & weaknesses.
You will facilitate the gathering/updating of baseline data into a community profile and ensure that these are communicated in the community.
You will facilitate the preparation of the annual budget & operational plan of partner barangays.
You will encourage the formation of alliances of new children and civil society and mandated local government groups.
You will document community projects, activities, and processes.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization.
In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
**To be successful in the role you will need among other things**:
University graduate in Social Work, Community Development, Behavioral Sciences, Disaster Risk Reduction, or Other related courses
Has at least two (2) years of work experience in actual community organizing and organizing.
Hands-on experience in participatory approaches including children
Has the knowledge and/or exposure to Community Organizing/ Community Development; Program/ Project Management; Participatory Rapid/ Rural Appraisal
Able to practice clear and effective communication that builds relationships in order to influence others.
Good command of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
The project is looking for three Project officers.
Each individual will be based either in Metro Manila, Tacloban City, or Cotabato City.

**Type of Role**: Project-based (one year)
**Reports to**: Project Manager
