The Entry Level Project Engineer provides engineering support for our process safety and risk management clients in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and energy industries.

Key Responsibilities:Creating and updating technical documentation related to safety and risk management programsUnderstanding and be knowledgeable in US Federal and State regulations associated with chemical process safety (i.e., OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA Risk Management Plan, California Accidental Release Prevention Program)Providing support and participating in safety and risk analyses such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)Participating in engineering and general design review with a client as requiredPreparing and organizing engineering drawings and other engineering documentationCompleting dispersion modeling and determining offsite impacts based on the area of impactPerforming engineering calculations as it relates to process safety hazards and general engineeringReview client documents such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, chemical inventory list, operating and maintenance procedures, etc.Preparing scope of work for projectsWorking with the company to define problem areas and implement product and service improvements based on feedback and metricsPerforming liaison function between clients and project members, if assigned to lead a projectInteracting with clients about process safety and risk management and answering any questions or problems they may haveCollaborating with other project engineers in the company to complete projects that require a teamKeeping supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments using approved technologies (e.g. Asana, Slack and Email)Performing other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering onlyAble to work in a very fast-paced environment and handle multiple projectsAble to work on shifting scheduleAble to work independently with minimal supervisionAble to work collaboratively with other team membersDemonstrate strong commitment to professional developmentProficient with Office 365 ApplicationAble to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documentsAble to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaintsAble to write presentations and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; ability to make effective and persuasive arguments and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors; ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phasesAble to apply engineering first principles, as well as basic to advanced levels of probability and statisticsAble to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problemsAble to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variablesAble to travel at least 25% of the yearWhat We Offer:Annual offsite team building activities.Opportunities for professional growth and development.A collaborative and supportive work environment, free snacks, team retreats, and get-togethers.The opportunity to work with leading companies and industries on pivotal safety challenges.Benefits Package (Dental, Medical, and Vision Insurance)Generous PTO that increases with tenureParental leaveUp to Fifteen (15) Company Holidays, depending on company and economic performance.To apply, please send your updated CV and cover letter to ******** or apply here on LinkedIn.Saltegra Consulting, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
