Key Responsibilities: Responsible in the maintenance and testing of Substation and Line Protective Devices, System Integrity ProtectionScheme (SIPS) relays, Protection Management System (PMS), Control and Monitoring System Devices, AuxiliaryPower System (Direct and Alternating), Network Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (NDME) and other secondarydevices; Ensures dependability and security of all protective relays, control system and secondary devices.
Principal Duties andResponsibilities
Responsibility1: MAINTENANCE & TESTING OF PROTECTION AND SECONDARY DEVICES PerformsPreventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of protection andsecondary devices. Tasks:
1. Implements PM and CM activities ofProtective Relays, Tele-protection, PMS, NDME, SIPS relays, Auxiliary Systemssuch as Station Batteries and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Control andMonitoring System equipment and other secondary devices of substation.
2. Implements Fault ClearanceSystem (FCS) inspection of substations.
3. Implements re-setting ofprotective relays as necessitated by changes in the power system parameters.
4. Implements integrity testingand calibration of protective relays.
5. Implements Functional Testing(FT) of protection, alarm, control, and interlocking circuits.
6. Analyzes plants and substationswiring diagrams, equipment operating mechanisms, instrument manual and othertechnical data pertaining to protection and secondary devices.
7. Implements troubleshooting onall protection relays, associated control/alarm circuits, and tele-protectionduring emergency situations.
8. Implements corrective works ofequipment with audit findings done by internal or external entities.
9. Retrieves and analyzes faultand event records to evaluate protection operations.
10. Coordinates with SystemOperations (SO), plants, District, Substations, P&E and other groups in theconduct of the above tasks.
11. Prepares and submits technicalreports to comply with corporate requirements.
12. Explores alternate solutions,evaluates, recommends and implements measures to enhance the performance andeffectiveness of protective relaying and control system.
13. Prepares, analyze and submittest reports / service reports. Responsibility2: TECHNICAL SERVICEPROVISION Implements technical services to internal and external customers.
Tasks:
1. Implementation of request frominternal and external customers.
2. Prepares test reports, relaycoordination, and diagrams upon request of internal and external customers.
Responsibility3: SECONDARY DEVICES ASSET MANAGEMENT Ensures the reliability,accuracy and functionality of secondary devices.
Tasks:
1. Validates if the grid andsub-grid protective relay settings and configuration are updated and correct.
2. Validates that the operation and functionality of equipment are accurate andreliable.
3. Ensures updated equipment dataversus actual installed assets. Responsibility
4: SAFETY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENTEnsure that activities are fully compliant with NGCP safety/quality standards.
Tasks:
1. Complies with applicableregulations and NGCP standards on safety and quality.
2. Strives for the continuousimprovement of NGCP processes necessary for the achievement of corporateobjectives.

Requirements: • (applicable license and/orcertification) Registered Electrical Engineer or Registered Electronics andCommunication Engineer
• (professional experience) Atleast three (2) years of relevant experience technical knowledge in protectiverelays and secondary devices
• Ability to operate testequipment and tools
• Ability to analyze/interpretelectrical diagrams
• Technical knowledge introubleshooting of electrical circuits.
• Good supervisory anddecision-making skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Knowledgeable in Computer-AidedDrawing
• Computer literate
