Pollution Control Officer

Duties and Responsibilities: Attend to the requirements of the establishment or agency prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities, including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits and their renewals. Monitor activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities to ensure compliance with air, noise, and water quality standards. The PCO and the head of the establishment shall be responsible for any violations of P.D 984 and its implementing rules and regulations committed by the establishment where the offices are employed. Supervise the proper operations and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the establishment or agency. Report within a reasonable time to the authority the breakdown of any pollution control facility, along with the estimated and actual date of completion/repair and operation. Serve as a liaison officer with the authority. Maintain liaison with the city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers. Attend meetings for PCO which may be called from time to time by the authority. Facilitate compliance of the establishment you represent with requirements prescribed by the authority. Recommend to management the installation and operation of additional equipment for pollution abatement facilities. Qualifications: Willing to be accredited as PCO. Familiar with Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations. Knowledgeable about Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems. Experienced in facilitating solid waste disposal, hazardous waste management, and emergency response. Familiar with ambient testing, Stack Emission Testing, Water Sampling, and Monitoring STP facilities. Job Type: Full-time
