About the role This full-time Pollution Control Officer position at Denso Philippines Corporation in Calamba City Laguna is crucial to ensuring the company's operations meet environmental regulations and standards. As Pollution Control Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the environmental impact of the company's activities, and implementing measures to minimize any negative effects.
What you'll be doing Ensure the company complies with all local, national, and international environmental regulations. Perform the duties and responsibilities in Section 10 of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order No. 2014-02, or the Revised Guidelines for Pollution Control Officer Accreditation. List, review, update, monitor, evaluate, submit, and report environmental compliance obligations. Ensure compliance with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency: Republic Act 6425 Dangerous Drugs Act 1972, Presidential Decree 9165 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10640 Amendment of Section 21 of Republic Act 9165 through the application of necessary certificates, licenses, and permits. Ensure compliance with Philippine National Police-Firearms & Explosives Division: Presidential Decree 1866, and Presidential Decree 9516 Amendment of Presidential Decree 1866 by applying for necessary certificates, licenses, and permits. Ensure compliance with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority - Environmental & Safety Group. Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of air, water, and soil quality to detect pollution levels. Perform weekly hazardous waste storage area and materials recovery facility inspections. Perform waste recycler/hauler/treater audit inspections before service acquisition and conduct surveillance audits with full reports prepared on time before contract renewal. Develop and oversee waste management programs, including the proper disposal and recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Implement environmental policies and controls such as but not limited to chemical, waste, green procurement, greenhouse gas, communication, emergency preparedness and response, and management of change among others. Conduct training sessions for employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices. Attend training, conferences, summits, and relevant environmental forums to stay updated with current legislation on environmental controls and participate in public forums with government agencies regarding proposed changes in environmental laws and implementing guidelines. Train related associates on designated processes for wastes, chemicals, green procurement, and internal audit. Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, and implement corrective actions. Prepare, issue, verify, and close corrective action reports for environment-related non-conformances, implement opportunities for improvement; act as an ISO 14001 internal auditor. Maintain accurate records of environmental data, permits, and compliance activities. Maintain and improve online databases such as but not limited to "Chemical Management System" by doing evaluations before purchasing new and existing chemicals & "Waste Disposal System" for the management of waste endorsement among others. Prepare necessary reports related to the company's environmental performance data or key performance indices and report the same to the management. Perform procedures, instructions, and form evaluations for new and existing processes or activities as per the company's quality management system. Promote and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint. Assist immediate superior in annual planning, budget presentation, target setting, and environmental policy implementation. Handle a team of Environment Associates and Helpers. What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pollution Control Officer or in a similar environmental management role Attended at least forty cumulative (40) hours of seminar/orientation/workshop on pollution control or environmental management sanctioned by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and/or related agencies from the past three (3) years. Strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to the manufacturing industry Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and project management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify and address environmental issues Commitment to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php32,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
