Position Title:Policy SpecialistJob Summary:Facilitate the review of the Bank's policies and procedures (P&Ps) and contribute to ensuring that P&Ps are aligned with the Bank's overall strategy, promote good risk management, consistent with the best practices in process design and policy development, and compliant with external regulations.
Role Exposure:Review policies, circulars, implementing guidelines, workflows, advisories/announcements, forms drafted by the Business Unit as to its contents and writing standards.Ensure that the draft P&P is consistent with related policies and procedures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies to maintain uniformity and coherence in policy handling and implementation.Facilitate the review process with all stakeholders and control units to ensure complete feedback and sign off.Mediates between business units with competing policy requirements, works to achieve resolution, and, where necessary, discusses/escalates the issue to the Department Head.Prepare and compile responses to comments/issues raised by stakeholders and control units and secure responses from the proponent-BU.Ensure that final approval for P&Ps is secured from the relevant approving authority before dissemination to the branches and other impacted business units.Prepare and maintain a comprehensive archive of all P&P-related documents, including drafts, approvals, and comments ensuring traceability and ease of retrieval.Maintain and regularly update the Project Monitoring Tool (PMT) to track the progress, status, and timelines of all P&P projects and initiatives.Gain an understanding of policies and procedures related to area of assignment and a working knowledge of such for all other areas of bank operations, features and functionalities of the Bank's systems and applications, products and services, to ensure the P&P documentation aligns with system capabilities, product offerings and operational constraints.Monitor and report project status and periodic updating progress to Department Head, team members, and client counterparts.Act as representative of the Department in meetings with business units.Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in any field.Experience and expertise in retail banking/branch banking operations.Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Strong working knowledge of the relevant banking regulations set forth by BSP.Advanced level of verbal and written communication skills.Advanced level of organizational skills, attention to details.Ability to communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders of varying seniority levels is an advantage.Other Details:
