POSITION SUMMARY:The Plumber efficiently undertakes a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and HVAC systems.A successful plumber must have a thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems. They are patient individuals with a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail.The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases or hot liquidsPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, airlines and water supply systems2.Perform installation of plumbing systems at new projects and properties3.Inspect previously installed plumbing systems. 4.Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems. 5.Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems (e.g. airlines, waterlines, steam lines etc.)6.Answer calls for plumbing issues from different departments.7.Work carefully to ensure that all installed systems are pass inspections.8.Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.9.Provide information regarding plumbing activities to end user.10.Keep workplace clean and safe.11.Perform any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:1.Male2.Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship3.Valid license to practice profession4.Proven experience as a plumber is an advantage5.Solid understanding of water distribution, air pipelines and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildingsWORKING CONDITIONS:1.Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)2.Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward space
