Southwestern University Medical Center is looking for a highly-driven Pharmacist who can be a great partner in providing exceptional health services.
General Job Responsibilities as a Pharmacist:
1. Reviews and prepares prescriptions issued by the Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication, and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
2. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
3. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals upon releasing.
4. Monitoring and maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital.
6. Assist on evaluating department staff performance.
7. Assist in giving examination and evaluation to the on-the-job trainees / Interns
8. Monitor closely the sales and census of the hospital.
9. Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
10. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste
11. Acts as officer in charge in cases when the Chief Pharmacist is not present
12. Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory
13. Responsible for updating the prescription book and Senior Citizen logbook.
14. Prepares unit dose dispensing for all patients including cash transactions.
15. Prepare receiving report of invoices and credit memos of returned medicines and post in the system.
16. Receives and check the drugs and supplies issued by the stockroom clerk.
17. Follows FIFO policy
Qualifications:
> A Registered Pharmacist with valid PRC License
> Possesses good communication skills
> Displays good coordination and organization skills
> Possesses analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
> Able to relate work harmoniously with superiors and co-workers
> Honest, diligent with an attitude that is consistently good and committed to the department
