Job Summary:
The Payroll Head is responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process within the organization, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team. The Payroll Head will also ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and provide strategic input to improve payroll processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee Payroll Operations:Manage and supervise the payroll team.Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees.Coordinate payroll-related activities with other departments, such as HR and Finance.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.Prepare and submit required payroll reports to governmental agencies.Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.System Management:Maintain and update payroll systems and software.Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll system issues.Collaborate with IT to implement system upgrades and enhancements.Process Improvement:Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of payroll processes and systems.Employee Support:Address payroll-related inquiries from employees.Provide training and support to payroll staff.Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly.Qualifications: Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll management.Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP).Previous leadership or supervisory experience.Skills:Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Working Conditions: Office environment.May require additional hours during peak payroll periods.Occasional travel for training or professional development.Performance Metrics: Accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.Compliance with payroll laws and regulations.Employee satisfaction with payroll services.Efficiency improvements in payroll processes.
