Overall Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for evaluating officer technical skills, behaviours and experience against V.Group selection, performance and progression criteria.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Undertakes:
a. Role-specific
b.
Vessel type-specific
c. Department-specific
structured competence assessment interviews as part of the seafarer recruitment process, and as part of the seafarer promotion process for officers
2.
Responsible for seafarer selection and endorsement decisions
3.
Responsible for officer promotion decisions
4.
Responsible for reviewing, evaluating and finalising disputed seafarer performance appraisals brought to their attention
5.
Ensures that all assessment interviews are undertaken as per established content, structure and flow for each role
6.
Assesses the seafarer's competence based on relevant test results, technical skills, experience and behaviours demonstrated or indicated
7.
Evaluates seafarer test results and qualifications to ensure they are valid and suitable for the role the seafarer is being assessed for

Additional Tasks

8.
Works with Recruitment, Professional Development, Planning and HR functions to maintain effective 'hand off' processes between functions
9.
Works as part of the Seafarer Assessment Centre of Excellence to develop competence assessment interview guides and supporting materials to be used for each area of assessment
10.
Works as part of the Seafarer Assessment Centre of Excellence to ensure assessment standards are periodically reviewed and updated
11.
Ensures seafarer assessment standards are continually improved

Required Experience:
ESSENTIAL:

- Holds a Class 1 Masters
- Considerable experience in Oil and Product Tankers
- Considerable experience in a senior shore based management position
- Considerable experience in undertaking seafarer interviews/promotion interviews
- Demonstrable capability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge of VMS / Matrix requirements for appropriate vessel types and roles

DESIRABLE:

- Experience in crew management
- Experience of competence-based interviewing
- Experience of developing training and assessment materials and guidance
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience on Chemical Tankers as Master or Chief Officer

**Job Type**: Fixed term
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: Php140,000.00 - Php180,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Parañaque City: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
