Job Summary: The Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration and management of the nursing department within a hospital or healthcare facility. They ensure that patient care is provided efficiently, safely, and effectively, while managing nursing staff, resources, and departmental processes. The role also includes contributing to the development of policies, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities: Staff Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff. Schedule and assign staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing guidance and feedback. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment to promote teamwork among nursing personnel. Quality and Patient Care: Ensure that high standards of patient care are maintained according to clinical guidelines. Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements to enhance care quality. Address patient concerns and resolve any issues related to nursing care. Operational Management: Develop and implement policies and procedures for the nursing department. Manage nursing supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning. Oversee departmental budgets and ensure efficient use of resources. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of patient care services. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with local and national healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., the Department of Health, Philippine Nursing Act). Maintain accreditation standards and prepare for inspections or audits. Ensure nursing practices adhere to ethical and legal standards. Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate the nursing team to achieve departmental goals. Implement continuing education programs for nursing staff to promote professional development. Encourage the use of evidence-based practices and facilitate ongoing education on the latest healthcare trends and technologies. Collaboration and Communication: Serve as the liaison between the nursing team and other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, specialists, administrators). Participate in meetings, committees, and other activities to improve hospital operations and patient care. Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and outcomes. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration is an advantage. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the Philippines. Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in nursing practice, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and nursing practices. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities. Job Type: Full-time
