Job Title: Nuclear Medicine TechnologistThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT imaging and quality control procedures. This may include but is not limited to radiopharmaceutical injection, post-processing of nuclear medicine and PET-CT images, reception work, and other procedures done at Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT. Responsible for records management of the department. Provide quality and safe patient care. Supports the goals and functions of the department.
ResponsibilitiesAssesses/interviews patients who will undergo Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Scan proceduresPerforms quality Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Scan proceduresPerforms daily/periodic quality control procedures of the imaging and non-imaging proceduresPrepare and administer radiopharmaceutical for diagnosis and radioactive treatmentStores radiopharmaceuticals and disposes of radioactive materials while following radiation safety proceduresIV cannulationAssists the Authorized User (Nuclear Medicine Physician) in preparation and administration of Therapeutic Radioactive Iodine-131 (RAI) and Lutetium-177, and monitor their radiation levelsAssists the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) in performing Radiation Protection and Safety measures, such as Radiation Survey MonitoringExplains procedures and safety precautions to patients/relatives and provides them with assistance during test proceduresPost-processes Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT imagesConducts complete patient medical history and acquires accurate patient parameters (height, CBG, BP, Pulse rate, O2 saturation)Performs clerical tasks and mans the reception area in the absence of the Nuclear Medicine ClerkMaintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of the department/hospitalFollows radiation protection and safety techniques, such as using protective barriers/devices and other shielding instruments, reducing time spent with radioactive substances, and maximizing the distance from the radioactive source, to minimize patient, staff, and public radiation exposure.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending trainings, seminars, conventions, and departmental meetingsEnsures confidentiality of records and processes data in adherence to data privacy law and data privacy policy of the HospitalEncodes and prints nuclear medicine and PET-CT resultsOther duties or ad hoc tasks/projects that may be assignedRequirementsEducation (any one of the following) BS Radiologic Technology graduate with valid PRC license as Radiologic TechnologistBS Medical Technology graduate with valid PRC license as Medical TechnologistExperience At least 1 year previous experience in Nuclear Medicine, PET-CT, and CT scanWith Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) – Course on Medical-Use of Radioisotopes (CMR) training coursePreferred Skills Ability to work under pressure*Must be willing to work in Arca South, Taguig City (M-F 8am-4pm; may be required to work on holidays/weekends depending on patient scheduling).
