Medical Coder

Seeking an experience medical coder and biller who is experienced in multi-disciplines and specialties. This individual must strive to deliver the highest of customer service standards. This position is responsible for supporting the Account Management team by reviewing medical records and selecting the most appropriate codes. Accurate coding ensures proper charges to the patient or insurance company of services rendered.

Certified Professional Coder active License (CPC) or relevant (5+ years of experience)Preferred 2- 4 years' experience in a physician coding positionExperience with multiple EMR Management softwareExtensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCSMeticulous attention to detailCapable of working under time restraintsStrong communication skills as you will be speaking with your supervisor, colleagues, and medical staff on a daily basisKeep current with coding changes and communicate all changes to supervisorMust maintain HIPAA standardsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and professionalStrong customer service orientationStrong computer and typing skillsOutstanding listening skillsPositive, friendly, approachable dispositionAbility to work with multiple priorities

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES: Review charge source documents for proper completionAccurately code procedures and diagnoses according to payer-specific policies and proceduresAssist with denials related to coding issuesMaintain an organized, efficient and professional work environment.Adhere to all practice policies related to HIPAA and Medicare Compliance PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Continuous sitting throughout the work shiftFrequent bends, kneels and crouchesMust be able to read small printRepetitive movements of hands, fingers and arms for typing and/or writing during work shiftContinuous use of the telephone to verbally speak to insurance companies and/or assigned by senior managementAbility to reach with hands and armsMust be able to handle stressWill view computer screens for long periods of time.Must be able to work standard office equipment: computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
