Location: Remote Job Type: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm Metairie, LA Time with an hour unpaid break About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and delivering excellent customer service to our patients. You will manage patient appointments, handle insurance verifications, assist with medical record updates, and ensure HIPAA compliance. This is a great opportunity to contribute to patient care while working remotely. Key Responsibilities: Greet patients and visitors online or via phone. Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service. Schedule and manage appointments, including confirming appointments with patients. Manage and distribute incoming and outgoing emails. Route calls to the appropriate department and handle patient messages. Register new patients and verify their insurance information. Prepare and process patient forms for appointments. Contact insurance companies to retrieve patient authorizations and handle insurance inquiries. Organize and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems. Update and maintain patient records, including sending monthly compliance reports. Create and send invoices for appointments. Ensure HIPAA compliance in all tasks. Qualifications: Experience as a Medical Assistant or similar administrative role in a healthcare setting. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and comply with HIPAA regulations. Basic knowledge of insurance verification processes (training will be provided).
