? Assist the Production Manager in the organization, planning, scheduling, implementation, monitoring and control of shipyard's resources relative to the mechanical activities undertaken by the production department.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1. Provides technical direction and guidance for Mechanical Group personnel.
2.2. Prepares as directed departmental reports and schedule and assists in maintaining job status and departmental records.
2.3. Supervises in the performance of marine mechanics and crew boat engineers and accomplishes the repair and overhaul of main propulsion machinery and various auxiliary machinery equipment of boats/vessels or Port and Harbor Services; i.e. diesel engines, pumps, compressors, generator
2.4. Oversees supervision of Mechanical Supervisor in maintaining high standards of work in carrying out maintenance, mechanical and repair work on plant and equipment, inside commissioned vessels under repair and in all areas of the Subic Drydock Work Zone.
2.5. Supervises under water machinery and propulsion shafting, removal, inspection, reinstallation of rudder, propeller, shafting and bearings.
2.6. Carries out Preventative Maintenance activities as required
2.7. Ensures proper and efficient use of all equipment & tools in the workshop.
2.8. Completes an end of shift report and carries out an effective communication & handover exchange with the incoming shift fitter in the work area.
2.9. Works safely at all times. Observes all quality & housekeeping policies. Keeps own work area clean & hygienic.
2.10 Prepares performance ratings. Initiates disciplinary or commendatory actions.
2.11 Recommends promotions, transfer, etc. Acts on grievances submitted through
channel concerning employees' problems.
