Duties & Responsibilities
Working at Teradyne, you will design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies for use in the System Test platforms. This includes:
Design of metal support structures to house the test equipment
Design of custom plastic injection molded components
Design of automated machinery to transport components within the test system
Tolerance analysis of mechanical parts and assemblies to ensure proper function and assembly
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of critical assemblies and parts to ensure material strength in application
Thermal analysis and component design to ensure sufficient cooling of electronics
Packaging of electronics, computers, and PCBAs
Cable routing and cable harness design
Executing good Design for Manufacturing practices to achieve cost and service objectives
Detailed drawing creation and documentation releases
Use of ASME and GD&T drawing standards and practices
As part of the engineering team, you will work in a multi-discipline team alongside software, electrical, automation, manufacturing, and field service engineers to develop our new products. Some travel abroad may be required to support new equipment installations and integration with manufacturing partners in Asia.
Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
BSME or MSME
Self Motivated individual
Project experience with mechatronics
Hands-on problem-solving experience
Solidworks CAD
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Background in GD&T
Solidworks PDM Pro is a plus
