The role will support in providing general guidance to management on policy, planning & advocacy in line with relevant Philippine energy laws, policies and programs as well as with industry trends and issues KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Keep management abreast with industry developments and provide recommendations based on the result of various research initiatives: Conduct business intelligence initiatives through competitive research on activities in the Renewable Energy sector & in the wider energy industry and tracking important/critical developments of key & emerging players in the field. Analyze potential market and product gaps across the company's new and existing portfolio Assist in conducting independent research on multiple energy and climate issues; Provide relevant literatures in preparation for energy climate issues. In coordination with the technical & investment teams, explore emerging technologies and assess their business viability. Contribute to corporate strategic inputs on policy, planning & advocacy by researching & analyzing existing state policies governing the energy sector. The incumbent may be tapped to assist on the following: Identify and lead negotiation of power purchase agreements. Ensure timely and complete handover of executed commercial agreements to the execution teams to facilitate the smooth delivery of contractual obligations Support in origination initiatives, with input from the investment, technical, project development and legal to ensure the PPAs have been assessed across multiple disciplines and that material risks are clearly communicated to management and stakeholders Provide/collate necessary data & inputs in drafting materials including reports, white papers, Preliminary Investment Approval Reports, Investment Approval Reports, and fact sheets; and Other tasks as may be assigned. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or any related course Preferably with master's degree in Engineering, Economics / Business Experience SKILLS Knowledgeable in the dynamics of power industry (market, generation, transmission) including applicable regulations. Working knowledge of relevant WESM Operations (e.g., line rental, metering, settlements, and pricing corrections) Strong analytical and planning skills Knowledge of Power Supply Agreements Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, with the presence and confidence to ably present reports to management and to represent the operating entities in dealing with and negotiating with external contacts #J-18808-Ljbffr
