Support Services Group has an immediate need for a Legal Counsel to function in our APAC region. This role will oversee multi-jurisdictional legal compliance within the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. As our APAC Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice, manage corporate governance, and support business operations while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. This role will also involve acting as the Corporate Secretary for our Philippine entities and managing corporate housekeeping matters across the APAC region.

The ideal candidate is an independent thinker and problem solver, someone who understands structures well and proactively identifies risks and areas for constant improvement. He/she can draft a plan, gain support from the executive leadership for the implementation, and execute such a plan. He/she desires to excel as a key player covering important legal and governance matters for a US headquartered, global provider of BPO services. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years' experience as a practicing attorney at law or as in-house counsel of a multinational corporation, preferably in its Philippines branch, with an annual revenue of 50 M USD or more. Previous experience in the BPO/Customer Care space or the qualification to serve as DPO is an advantage amongst candidates but not a must. As APAC Legal Counsel, you will report to SSG's Global Chief Legal Officer in the United States.

Job Description/Functions: Oversee and ensure multi-jurisdictional legal compliance within the APAC region, providing strategic legal advice to support SSG's business operations. Develop and implement internal governance tools and corporate policies, conduct internal investigations, and manage risk and governance matters. Serve as Corporate Secretary for SSG's Philippine entities, handling corporate housekeeping matters and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Provide legal advice on Philippine law matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate compliance, and labor and employment laws. Act as a key advisor and drive legal support for business deals, including contract structuring and negotiations with clients and vendors. Provide training and advice to business teams on contracting matters in line with company policies. Evaluate the impact of evolving legal and statutory regulations on business functions and contribute to business planning. Maintain high standards of corporate governance and compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute company policies and strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring legal compliance. Oversee the companies HR operations from a legal aspect. Liaise with outside legal counsels and oversee ongoing litigation and disputes.
