JOB DESCRIPTION: Being a member of the Database Engineering team, the Lead Database Engineer is a DBA role and will provide database administrative support for all DTCC environments including Development, QA, client test, and our critical high availability production environment and DR Data Centers.
Extensive knowledge on all aspects of Oracle database administration and the ability to support other database platforms including both Aurora PostgreSQL and MSSQL-Server.
This DBA will have a high level of impact in the creation of new processes and solutions, while operating under established procedures and processes in a mission critical Financial Services infrastructure environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Software installation and patchingDatabase creation and configurationSupport development, QA, PSE and Production environments using ServiceNow ticketing systemReview production performance reports for variances from normal operationMaintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.Provide 3rd level support for DTCC critical production environments.Participate in root cause analysis for database issues.Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; and resolving problems.Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.Shared responsibility for off-hour support.Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 6 years of related experienceStrong Oracle knowledge of 19c, 21c and 22c.Strong knowledge in MSSQL Server and Aurora Postgres databaseStrong knowledge in Python and Angular.Working knowledge of Oracle's GoldenGate Replication technologyWorking knowledge of O/S and Disk Management, working knowledge with SQLHands-on experience with Oracle RAC and OEM Grid Control/Cloud ControlHands-on experience in Python, Ansible and other scripting languages to automate the tasks.Ability to work with a high degree of latitude while adhering to established process and procedures.Strong understanding of both how databases fit into systems and how application changes will influence database performance.ABOUT DTCC: With 50 years of experience, DTCC is the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry.
