**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Daily management of correspondence with the Brisbane office
- Daily management of workflow
- On-time completion of all tax work
- Able to reconcile transactions, preferably in Xero
- Preparation of sole trader financial statements
- Preparation of other tax return types: trusts, basic company, and partnership
- Understanding of small business concessions
- Motor vehicle purchase and sales treatments
**Required Experience**
- 1-3 years industry-relevant experience in a similar role
- Proven work output and attainment of KPI's/budgets
- Experience with the Xero App suite such as Xero Practice Manager, Xero Blue, FYI
- Docs, Practice Ignition, Now Infinity, Hubdocs, etc.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor Degree - Accounting
- CPA qualified under PICPA member pathway agreement
- Xero Certification preferred
- Advanced understanding of Australian tax law and surrounding tax concepts
- Advanced understanding of Capital Gains events in regard to the sale of property or shares
- Understanding of tax treatment for foreign residents and treatment of foreign income
- Ability to prepare an individual tax return
- Ability to sort and compile documents into a logical order, and disseminating information from documents, and an understanding of where this is input into ITRs
- Ability to complete a rental property schedule
- Ability to complete an advanced level income tax return with a business schedule
- Developed understanding of CGT in relation to properties and shares
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Developed understanding of GST
- Developed understanding of FBT
- Understanding of payroll
- Bookkeeping experience is advantageous
- Understanding of small business concessions
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude of being organised and able to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail
