Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the formulation of merchandising strategies and attainment of sales/margin goals at the least inventory
• Ensure maximize sales potential and profit through manipulating product mix, pricing, margins, coloring, sizing, store distribution and delivery phasing considering historical performance, current brand direction and trends in the market
• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers regarding samples, orders, FOB prices, MOQs and brand building support among others
• Prepare order worksheet (new items / re-order / corporate order) and coordinate with brand and store merchandisers and operations for sampling and buying
• Monitor sell through of products and proactively take action to ensure maximum sales and profit is achieved
• Monitor and assess correctness of current products and make appropriate actions to maximize bestsellers, minimize risks and identify gaps in the market
• Monitor inventory levels and aging and take action to bring them to profitable levels
• Support the Division Head in setting directions through proactive feedback on effectiveness of previous and current merchandise strategies as well as identification of focus, growth and exit areas
• Build on product knowledge and category expertise through familiarization with competitor and complement brands' product ranges, pricing and positioning.
• Periodically visit the warehouse to check on defective products and recommends appropriate action to be taken to Division Head
• Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Has at least 2-3 years relevant experience in merchandising, preferably in retail industry
• Has advanced knowledge in budget, financial statements, strategic marketing and trend forecasting
• With excellent skills in Merchandise Management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical, creative and good in Math
• Has excellent negotiation skills
• Amenable to work beyond working hours
• Amenable to travel locally and internationally when the need arises
