Purpose of Role
The purpose of the QA Engineer role is to provide expertise in the planning, constructing and execution of test scripts as part of system and UAT.
Apply business and functional knowledge including testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology to meet the team's overall test objectives. Ensure all testing results are easily accessible and understandable.
Track defects to closure and keep defect repository up to date. Generic Responsibilities Develop test plan, test scenarios, scripts, test conditions, input test data, and expected results for one or more project test streams, including but not limited to IT infrastructure, IT Security, System, Integration, Performance and User Acceptance tests. Specific Responsibilities
Contribute to developing, improving, and maintaining testing standards and practices. Help develop test strategy for projects under different IT portfolios.
Take the lead in executing test strategy.
Help triage and manage defects/issues reported during testing activity.
Work with the application and technical teams to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.
Participate in the release control process (when the application/tenant is transferred from the build team to the test team) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements. Validate product fixes.
Inform the test lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process. Key Relationships

4-6 years of experience as a software tester with bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
Familiarity or knowledge of IT Infrastructure services and IT security is an advantage. Must have experience testing related to any Payroll Systems
Good communication skills
Detail oriented: able to document and follow detailed.
Instructions within test scripts as well as defects tracking documents (i.e., steps to recreate the problem)
Understanding of testing concepts and how testing fits in with the overall project life cycle. Knowledge on using Defect Management too UTC
