KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Information Technology
1.
Implements and cascades departmental goals and objectives.
2.
Keeps abreast of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to senior management on desirable additions or replacements, in terms of both hardware and software.
3.
Consults with users on project requests or for problem resolution; directs an internal development team to design and develop solutions, to satisfy user needs.

Ensures and maintains confidentiality of information

Directs operations of computer and related equipment, including telecommunications, data networks, and servers and all software necessary to run these.
7.
Develops transitional plans for acquisition and installation of IT equipment and software.
8.
Coordinates with external suppliers of equipment and services.
9.
Controls or monitors departmental budget; provides input for budget development.
10.Ensures that best practices are rolled out to all plants and that procedures and ways of working are standardized throughout all Ionics plants in the use of the company's computer equipment and network facilities.
11.Manages daily operations and provides specific technical expertise for function supervised.
12.Plans and estimates staffing and other resource requirements.
13.Directly supervises all assigned subordinate staff; recruit, screen, hire and train staff in coordination with HRD; evaluate employee performance; provide guidance and feedback to assigned staff.
14.Recommends professional development opportunities for Staff;
15.Counsels, disciplines and/or terminates employees as required.
16.Resolves problems referred by Staff.
17.Follows up with users to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
18.Informs superior of any losses or damages, due to user errors andlor system disruptions.
19.Performs other functions as maybe required by the superior after due training/qualification.
