Qualifications & Experience:
• Technical Certificate or Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or at least High School graduate.
• With experience in operating, setting up, and maintaining injection molding machines.
• With Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in plastic injection molding) is preferred.
• Knowledge of injection molding machines and tooling (e.g., molds, hot runner systems).
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
• Understanding of machine settings (e.g., temperature, pressure, cycle time) for different plastic materials.
• Familiarity with basic hydraulics, electrical systems, and pneumatics used in injection molding machines.
• Ability to work with machine controllers and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Machine Setup: Set up injection molding machines for production, including mold installation, machine calibration, and adjusting settings (temperature, pressure, cycle time). Ensure correct material loading and feed system setup to avoid defects.
• Machine Operation: Operate injection molding machines during production runs. Monitor machine performance, including cycle times, temperatures, and pressures to ensure consistency and high-quality output.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Troubleshoot and identify issues with the injection molding machines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic problems). Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks to minimize downtime. Ensure molds are cleaned, lubricated, and maintained properly to prevent defects.
• Quality Control: Monitor part quality and inspect for defects such as warping, short shots, or flash. Adjust machine settings to correct quality issues and optimize the molding process.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on molding machines to keep them in good working condition (e.g., cleaning, lubrication, replacing parts). Document maintenance activities and keep accurate records.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed machine logs that track settings, production data, maintenance, and repairs. Report any significant issues or breakdowns to the maintenance or management team.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all machines are operated in a safe manner, following company safety procedures and guidelines. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
• Collaboration: Work with the production team to ensure machines are operating efficiently and meeting production targets. Collaborate with the maintenance team to handle major repairs or overhauls.
