Develop and enforce firewall policies, rules, and access control lists based on industry best practices and organizational security requirements. Monitor firewall logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner. Conduct periodic firewall audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards. Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues and connectivity problems. Perform regular firewall software upgrades and patch management to maintain system stability and security. Stay updated on the latest network security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to proactively identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Document firewall configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing. Provide support and guidance to other IT teams and end-users regarding firewall-related inquiries and issues. Participate in incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and assisting with forensic analysis. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong experience in firewall administration, including configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise-class firewalls. In-depth knowledge of network security protocols, standards, and technologies, such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, VPN, IDS/IPS, and AAA. Proficiency in firewall management tools and platforms, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, or Check Point. Solid understanding of network routing and switching concepts, TCP/IP, VLANs, and subnetting. Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards, such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and NIST. Professional certifications in network security, such as CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Experience with next-generation firewall technologies and advanced security features. Knowledge of cloud-based firewall solutions, such as AWS Security Groups or Azure Network Security Groups. Understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate firewall administration tasks. Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools, such as Wireshark or SolarWinds. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network security issues.
