**JOB SUMMARY**
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, servicing, overhaul and maintaining the range of heavy-duty construction equipment and the construction fleet, like bulldozers, cranes, graders and backhoes, in the company.
As a lead mechanic, he will be responsible for driving equipment to the job site as well.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
New Equipment
- **I**nspect inbound equipment for operational functionality and purchase/lease quality and standard
- Driving moving equipment to the job site.
- Orient and/or ensure new hires and new equipment operators are trained to use these safely and effectively
Routine Maintenance
- Establish a maintenance schedule for equipment and machines in his assigned project site.
- Inspect trucks, cranes, backhoes, and other heavy equipment for proper performance, faults and malfunctions
- diagnose malfunctioning units, adjusting equipment, and replacing faulty parts for minor cases.
- Repairing damaged equipment part as needed
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure timely and efficient maintenance work is done
- Consult with other mechanics on smaller repair jobs.
Major Repairs
- Performing major repair work when necessary.
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Monitor items being repaired are properly accounted for (ensure a return to the site) and in good working condition, post-repair.
Documentation for Heavy Equipment
- Maintain a record for all heavy equipment operational movement (ingress/release), usage and repairs done.
- In collaboration with Project Manager, provides regular updates on heavy equipment inventory and status to Head Office for financial audit and other purposes.
- Viber must be kept on 24/7 for instructions from the management, real-time response during work hours is required (at most 30 minutes from contact attempt)
Others
- Ensure proper care of all tools, equipment and machinery assigned to his care
- Coordinate with internal and external partners (mechanics, repair crew) in the process of executing his job
- Support the Project Manager and team in other matters to complete team goals
- Other tasks as may be assigned by senior leaders

**EXPERIENCE**
- At least 3-5 years experience working with, using, and managing repairs and maintenance of construction equipment, (backhoe, crane, walk behind, etc.)
**JOB FACTORS (Location, Impact, Network / Contact Range)**
- Enjoys doing some routine tasks and handling different tasks as well.
- Construction schedule is on Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM, may be required to work on weekends and holidays
- Stationed in a construction site away from Metro Manila (Tagaytay), lodging in a staff-house on site
- Physical strength: Heavy is the name of the Job.
Some equipment can be extremely heavy and will take a lot of strength to move or manipulate
- Occasionally oversee overtime and overnight material receiving activities (ex.
concrete pouring)
- Can handle challenging work situations that require adaptability and quick decision making in ambiguous situations
- Can relate to and work with people from all walks of life
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
**Education**:
- Junior High School (preferred)
**Experience**:
- managing repairs and maintenance of construction equipment: 3 years (preferred)
- Real Estate or Construction Company: 1 year (preferred)
