Hearing Care Specialist

1. BASIC DUTIES1.1. Selects and administers tests to evaluate hearing or related disabilities.1.2. Administers basic hearing tests including air conduction, bone conduction, or speechaudiometry tests.1.3. Trains clients to use hearing aids or other augmentative communication devices.1.4. Creates or modifies impressions for earmolds and hearing aid shells.1.5. Maintains or repairs hearing aids or other communication devices.1.6. Demonstrates assistive listening devices (ALDs) to clients.1.7. Diagnoses and treats hearing or related disabilities under the direction of anaudiologist.1.8. Performs basic screening procedures such as pure tone screening, otoacousticscreening, immittance screening, and screening of ear canal status using otoscope.2. OTHERS.2.1. Performs other job-related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
