The position is expected to lead the development, management, and expansion of the equity derivatives unit of the Company. The role includes focusing on product development, regulatory development, risk management, and education of market participants and investors. The position will also be responsible for overseeing the company's equity derivatives operations and product offerings, interacting with various industry stakeholders to address their needs and promote active participation in the derivatives market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES I. Market Development Leads the development of Exchange regulations for equity derivative products.Coordinates and liaises with key regulatory agencies to ensure proper alignment of the Exchange's rules with relevant government laws and regulations.Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to grow the equity derivatives segment.Leads the creation and launch of various derivative instruments such as futures, options and other equity-related derivatives, and ensures that the design of contract specifications is acceptable to the intended investor segment.Provides periodic reports to the Management Committee on key performance indicators, key issues, and areas for development.Identifies growth opportunities and key expansion initiatives.II. Operations Oversees the daily operations of the equity derivatives market, including trading, clearing and settlement, and other related activities.Monitors market movements and day-to-day processes to ensure market transparency, efficiency, and adherence to operational standards.Coordinates with various PSE and external teams to address any operational issues or disruptions in a timely manner, and to ensure that trading, risk management, and reporting systems are functioning smoothly.Develops and implements robust risk management policies and procedures for all equity derivative products and related systems, in coordination with the Risk Management Office.Works closely with the Compliance Office to ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of governance.III. Stakeholder Engagement and Education Engages and maintains relationships with market participants and other key stakeholders to understand market needs and trends and collaborate on growth initiatives.Develops and implements market education programs for market participants such as brokers, institutional and retail investors, regulators, technology providers, legal and finance professionals, and other stakeholders.Collaborates with industry associations, educational institutions, and media partners to promote greater knowledge and understanding of equity derivatives and increase market participation.Collaborates with the Market Education and Corporate Communications teams to develop seminars, trainings, and educational content on equity derivatives, and to disseminate these through the Exchange's various communication platforms.Acts as a thought leader in the equity derivatives space, participating in industry conferences, seminars, and panel discussions to educate and promote awareness and knowledge on derivatives trading.REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field; a post-graduate degree related to finance is not required but would be an advantage.
Experience: At least 7 to 10 years of experience in equity derivatives, specifically trading, risk management, policy development or related roles in a derivatives exchange, bank, or securities brokerage.
Specific Knowledge: Derivatives trading, risk management, financial market infrastructure operations, familiarity with regulations and policies on finance, specifically securities and investment.
