Responsible for the work schedule of the mechanic and fleet checker.Supervises subordinates and ensures accuracy and timely completion of repairs.Corrects trucks' deficiencies by assisting the Mechanic in removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems including test runs after completion of repair.Performs daily checking and routine preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment including but not limited to: lubrication and oil changes, brake, wheel, tire and battery services, belt, hose, headlight, and basic component replacement.Performs basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems.Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifies worn out and damaged parts.Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components and parts upgradesVerifies trucks' performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.Ensures proper safekeeping of parts, tools and equipment.Reports any lost, defective and damaged items from the motor pool area.Maintains equipment and truck records by recording services and repairs.Ensures good housekeeping maintenance (cleanliness and orderliness) of the motor pool area.Prepares requisition of items for disposal, e.g., scrap materials, used oils, etc.Enhances Maintenance Department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Leads in the actual rescue of trucks due to delays encountered.Monitors daily and updates the movement and status of materials inventory to identify what needs to be re-ordered, replaced, or disposed, and prepares summary report for Trucking Head's final disposition and approval.Ensures that all reports should be with the knowledge and approval of the department/business unit head and/or designate.Fully adheres to the company's code of discipline.Performs other tasks that the Trucking Head and/or Head of Operations may assign from time to time.
