Collaborate with dynamic, cross-functional and international teams As a Government Relations Manager, your job duties include staying current on existing and proposed legislation in Iraq, building good relations with relevant government officials, and updating management on relevant laws and regulations.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
· Leading our Iraq government affairs through serving as the primary point of contact for Iraq governments
· Being responsible for building professional long-term relationships with relevant Government officials
· Having a clear understanding of all Labor Laws, Tax Laws and Regulations in Iraq
· Identifying, tracking and effectively communicating public policy developments to the business to formulate practical recommendations for the company's response
· Positioning our company as an integral partner of Energy Transition and participation in key collaborations
· Representing the company in key trade associations and other relevant, non-governmental organizations to best position us in the market
· Coordinating commercial advocacy globally to help drive key deals to successful completion
· Managing record-keeping and reporting to maintain compliance with company policy and applicable public ethics laws
· Being up to date with regard to any changes or amendments to the Iraq prevailing laws / rules / regulations, changes in forms / formats and other procedures and keep the business advised of such changes
Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will:
· Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
· Have 5+ years of experience in a Government Relations role in Iraq within the Oil & Gas/Energy sector
· Have experience in Business Development
· Have solid, professional expertise in government and advocacy on behalf of a company, trade association or government affairs firm
· Have solid experience and understanding of Iraqi Labor laws, tax laws and regulations
· Be very fluent in written & spoken English & Arabic
· Have substantial experience in energy and climate policy and an existing network of meaningful, constructive government relationships
· Display excellent communications skills, with an ability to engage with senior global leaders with poise and confidence
· Show the ability to multi-task effectively and balance priorities in an ever changing, fast-moving, time-sensitive environment
· Demonstrate a focus on internal stakeholder care and responsiveness, with solid interpersonal awareness
· Be able to anticipate needs and make judgement calls within your area of expertise and responsibility
· Display a high value for integrity, kindness and show a sense of humor
· Be a proactive, motivated self-starter, maintaining discipline and focus in managing long term initiatives without close supervision
