PURPOSE
The Government Compliance Specialist is responsible in ensuring accurate and timely compliance to tax requirements of the company.
Identifying and analyzing different aspects of the company's operation and applicable tax criteria, developing and maintaining contact with external parties to ensure appropriate and timely resolutions of tax issues.
Provides guidance to Finance, Accounting and operating departments on compliance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BIR COMPLIANCES
- Monthly and annual filing of Tax returns thru BIR EFPS with Alpha list / supporting documents and ensure funding of various taxes to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
The following must be followed three (3) days before deadline of filing:
- Withholding Taxes
- Compensation ( 1601 C) - every 10th of the following month
- Expanded ( 1601 E)
- every 10th of the following month
- Final Tax ( 1601 F)
- every 10th of the following month
- Value Added Tax
- Monthly ( 2550 M) -every 20th of the following month
- Quarterly - every 25th of the following month
- Income Tax
- Quarterly - 60 days after quarter
- Annual - April 15 after calendar year
- Annual Inventory Listing
- Documentary Stamp Tax
- Annual Registration
- Summary List of the following
- Sales
- Importation
- Purchases
- Government Agency Notices:
- Immediately communicate to the Management prior the receipt of any BIR notice such as but not limited to Letter of Authorities, Access Letters, etc.
- Secure the copy of ID's of the BIR representative
- Responsible in ensuring that the received BIR notices and correspondence is properly responded with the approval of the Controller and Executive Office.
PERMITS AND LICENSES
- Secure and process all business permits renewals for Head Office
- Monitor and process BIR-related clearances as needed
- Secure annual ATP and book of accounts for all companies
- Process necessary permits and requirements when closing a non-operating companies or opening of new companies
TAX AUDITS & ASSESSMENTS
- Performs tax compliance audits to identify potential tax exposures and recommends measures to address
- Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities
- Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings
- Assist in the preparation of schedules, retrieval of supporting documents, letter correspondence in line with tax and legal compliances like BOC, SEC and BIR
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
- Minimum of 3 experience in Accounting and Tax Management
- In-depth knowledge of Tax Compliance Laws.
- Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of strategic, analytical and decision-making skills
- Aptitude for balancing multiple priorities with strong organization and prioritization capability
**Salary**: Php26,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
