FIXED ASSET SPECIALIST
1. Asset Management and Record-Keeping
(a) Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring all asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
(b) Oversee the proper tagging, categorization, and tracking of all physical and intangible assets.
(c) Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in asset management and reporting.
2. Capitalization and Depreciation
(a) Review and approve asset capitalization and depreciation schedules, ensuring alignment with GAAP or IFRS standards.
(b) Accurately calculate and record depreciation expenses in the general ledger.
(c) Monitor asset lifecycles and conduct impairment reviews as necessary.
3. Reconciliation and Reporting
(a) Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
(b) Prepare detailed fixed asset reports for financial statements and management, including asset summaries, depreciation expense, and net book value.
4. Asset Audits and Physical Verification
(a) Conduct periodic physical asset verifications and audits, coordinating with other departments to ensure accuracy.
(b) Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in asset audits and implement process improvements as needed.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
(a) Work closely with purchasing, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of asset information.
(b) Assist in budgeting and forecasting for asset purchases and capital expenditures.
6. Compliance and Process Improvement
(a) Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls for asset management.
(b) Identify and implement process improvements for asset tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred. - 3-5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or finance, preferably within the online gaming, hospitality,
or integrated resort industry.
- Proven experience in fixed asset management, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation
processes.
- Familiarity with asset audit processes and conducting physical verifications. 1. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and fixed asset management modules.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with GAAP or IFRS standards related to fixed asset accounting and reporting.
- Experience with property management systems (PMS) and/or gaming management systems (GMS) is a plus.
2. Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, asset life cycles, and asset categorization.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as tax implications for fixed assets and compliance with asset-related internal controls.
