Implements and maintains an organization-wide environmental compliance capacity building and performance tracking system in the exercise of oversight on the environmental safeguards practices of the on-the-ground business operations. Engages on a regular basis with business units and their compliance point persons (Pollution Control Officers) to ensure full compliance with the conglomerate's environmental policies, which include internal reportorial requirements. Capacity Building: Develops and delivers training modules to address environmental compliance competency gaps of the business units' environmental compliance point persons. Generates a group-wide calendar and delivers mandatory environmental compliance trainings for designated Pollution Control Officers and Managing Heads. Handholds and supports the implementation of the business units' drills and exercises related to environmental practicesPolicy, Processes and Tools: Seeks and responds to feedback from the business units on any issues related to the implementation of the environmental policy and processes and makes recommendations to improve procedures and tools. Test drives with internal customers new or improved compliance tracking procedures and tools before recommendation for mainstream implementation Compliance Monitoring: Populates the real-time monitoring tools for environmental compliance and analyzes the data contained within to detect any impending risk events. Maintains an online database of environmental compliance records (one time permits, renewable permits, mandatory reports, case files) of each project and operating asset, serving as the mirror repository of compliance records. Prepares consolidated status reports for managements information and response.Inspection and Validation: Performs site inspections to validate the information contained in internal reports and reports to regulators, to ensure that minimum compliance is met and best practices aligned with the sustainability framework and commitments are implemented.Compliance Support: Provides advisory and relationship management support to business units that have red-flag incidents on environmental compliance matters. Receives and performs quick assessment of actual or emerging red flag situations for timely actions of the business units and/or support teamsPolicy Advocacy and Stakeholder Management: Makes recommendations for the adoption or amendment of policy or regulations that affect the environmental compliance status or inherent risk at the business unit level. Nurtures a network of internal and external stakeholders with whom common environmental compliance goals and competencies are shared. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, management, or a related role.Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in environmental monitoring and data analysis software.
