Job Description Major Duties and Responsibilities
Performs engineering experiments to help resolve product quality problems. Evaluates process changes to achieve lower production costs without adversely affecting product quality or characteristics. Ensures compliance to Quality System requirements in manufacturing areas. Ensures timely resolution of customer related issues for both Internal and External. Reviews customer specifications and determines which requirements the devices can and cannot meet; assists customers in determining the nature of problems such as manufacturing defects, inadequate screening and customer misapplications. Applies statistical quality assurance techniques such as analysis of variance, normal distribution, parametric tests, correlation, chi-square test and FMEA. Correlates quality measurements with manufacturing final test and customers; recommends improvements for performing tests. Utilizes and drives Statistical Process control (SPC) in manufacturing areas Establishes and implements automated quality assurance methods, tests, and procedures to process discrete or integrated circuit semiconductor devices. Confirm any material failure during gate and process monitoring and investigate source of failure. Generate periodic quality report for all concerned personnel. Investigate and resolve any quality or reliability issues found during Process Audit and Gate. Formulate specification and implementation guidelines for process quality improvements and customer satisfaction. Coordinate and work with manufacturing group in problem solving, material dispositioning and Corrective Action implementation activities. Conduct technical studies relevant to quality and reliability of the product. Other duties as assigned. Participate in Buy-off, characterization and optimization of new equipment and processes. · Employs TPM-QM Methodology as part of continuous improvement activities. · Performs system transactions for the ON Semiconductor Customer Incident Tracking System which may include the following: updating of status of customer return, uploading of Corrective Action (8D) Reports, assignment of corrective actions for system tracking (FUA). Qualifications Education / Experience Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; 1 to 2 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing Experience in application of statistical techniques and quality technologies such as FMEA, DOE, and SPC, GR&R, Sampling plan procedures and Machine /Process Capability Study.
