JOB SUMMARY The Emergency Medical Services Responder is responsible for ensuring timely, appropriate and respectful emergency medical care to employees, guests and visitors of the company. They are also responsible for assisting the EMS Duty Officer in integrating and coordinating EMS services and establishing procedures; and assisting in developing and implementing health programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES Answer incoming calls and redirect them to appropriate department or employeeOperate radio, telephone or computer equipment at any emergency calls or reportProvide emergency medical care and determine the right course of action after evaluating the patient's condition under the supervision of the Duty OfficerEnsure that transfer of patient to base hospital is properly executedEnsure that all emergency medical response is handled with utmost care and confidentialityMonitor that emergency response standards, sanitation and hygiene standards are properly implementedProvide optimum emergency medical service and deliver the highest level of professional care to preserve life, prevent further injury and promote recovery during responseIdentify assessment findings that may require communicating with Duty Officer/Company Physician for adviceConstantly assess patients and administer additional care while awaiting additional EMS resources and while enroute to emergency facilityAssist in ensuring that ambulance is properly maintained and functioning with complete emergency medical supplies equipmentEnsure that all equipment in meeting rooms are accounted for and in proper working orderEnsure cleanliness and orderliness of the officeReport any equipment or facilities which require repairAssist in implementing and promoting health and emergency response program in the workplaceSubmit complete, timely and accurate reports to the EMS Duty OfficerConduct investigation regarding workplace related illnesses and injuries and give appropriate recommendationsConduct health inspections and medical surveillance in the working environment and work practices that might affect the worker's healthImplement and monitor training, lecture, orientation, seminar, hands-on instruction and information, education and communication (IEC) materials to company employees on matters of health and emergency responseRespond to emergency medical while ensuring personal safety and well-beingAssist the EMS Duty Officer in all administrative and overall operations of the Emergency Medical Services UnitPerform other related tasks as directed by the EMS Assistant Manager and/or EMS Duty OfficerCoordinate and establish relationship with other security units and departmentsAssist in the implementation of disaster preparedness plans and programsQUALIFICATIONS Graduate of BS NursingMust be a Registered NurseMust have completed Emergency Medical Technician / Basic CourseHas at least one (1) year relevant experience in the field of Emergency Medical ServicesKnowledgeable on Basic and Advanced Life Support and EMS systemPossesses good verbal and written communication skillsHas strong clinical management knowledge and skillsAble to cope with fast-paced and emotionally and physically demanding jobHas excellent interpersonal skills
