Job Description: Elementary School Teacher
The main purpose of the teacher role at CISM is to provide high quality learning and teaching for a specific curriculum area/s as agreed on appointment.
**1.
Line of Responsibility**
The teacher will work with and will be directly responsible to their line manager as advised in the school organisation chart.
The post holder will be expected to interact on a professional level with all stakeholders in order to promote a mutual understanding of the school's vision and values.
Teachers are expected to ensure a consistency of approach in creating a climate of high expectations and continuous improvement in all areas of school life.

Job Purpose**
- To teach an exciting, motivating and inspiring curriculum in order to fulfil the school curriculum requirements and the CISM Mission;
- To work with colleagues in the delivery of the agreed curriculum;
- To co-operate with any other reasonable request from the Head of School.
**3.

- Ensure students flourish by creating a positive climate for learning, supporting the holistic development of each student, with a strong emphasis on well-being in an intercultural context.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of emotional intelligence and a good sense of humour, effectively collaborating within a range of teams.
- Fully support the school Mission, Vision and Values.
- Go the extra mile for students, contributing to the wider life of the school, including the broad co-curricular programme and community events.
- Experience of Early Years is an advantage.

Key Accountabilities**
Learning and Teaching
- To ensure a consistent and continuous focus on students' achievement using data benchmarks to monitor progress in every child's learning;
- To challenge student underperformance and to ensure effective intervention, monitoring and evaluation of progress, liaising with
parents, homeroom teachers and senior managers as appropriate;
- To implement a diverse, flexible and differentiated curriculum and to ensure an effective assessment framework is implemented;
- To support the development of IT based resources and e-learning;
- To ensure that Assessment for Learning(AfL) strategies are implemented, that marking is clear and feedback helpful, that planning contains opportunities for peer and self-assessment, that model answers and mark schemes are used to support learning, and that
students are aware of how their performance compares to potential, and what to do to improve;
- To review and analyse data, feeding back to line managers on progress (good, normal and weak);
- To stay up to date with curriculum developments as well as CISM initiatives, and ensure that planning is updated to reflect such developments;
