Electrical Engineer for Protection, Automation, and ControlThe Electrical Engineer- Protection, Automation, and Control is responsible for conceptualizing and designing protection, automation, and control systems as well as monitoring their implementation. This system should comply with the company's protection philosophy and align with the Company's goals and objectives to develop and operate efficient electrical power systems. The incumbent is also responsible for simulating and foreseeing protection methods to safeguard the Company's electrical system assets during abnormal and fault conditions; and for providing technical assistance to all Hedcor plants located in Luzon and Mindanao for Protection, Automation, and Control related works.
Key ResponsibilitiesConducts power system fault analysis using simulation software tools to anticipate abnormal/fault system conditions, potential problems, and determine possible solutions to protect the system.Conceptualizes and designs protection systems for new and expansion projects, including protection one-line and schematic diagrams, trip/alarm matrix, and inputs/outputs assignments.Prepares protection settings (engineering & logic) to adequately protect system components during abnormal and fault conditions.Performs relay setting laboratory simulation and recalculates settings based on results of simulation testing.Evaluates pre-wired protection and control diagrams for outsourced projects.Coordinates approved designs on protection and control schemes with project engineers assigned to each project.Monitors projects by conducting site inspections, testing, and audits to ensure compliance with design and specifications.Provides technical specifications to Purchasing, ensuring procurement of the exact equipment and materials needed.Conducts protection system audits and reviews for existing plants.Maintains and reviews relay settings and coordination for internal and external customers.Maintains relay setting database and protection diagrams.Develops and updates Hedcor Protection Philosophy, Code, and Guidelines.Prepares Protection Development Plan.Conceptualizes and designs automation and tele-protection systems.Prepares tele-protection and control schematic diagrams.Prepares tele-protection system requirements.Prepares SCADA programming and logic settings.Maintains database of SCADA and Control design and diagrams.Recommends network automation projects.Provides resolution to protection and SCADA/control systems problems and troubleshooting.Other Related TasksComplies with company policies and procedures, safety rules, and practices.Conforms to the company's Integrated Management Systems, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.Reports any Integrated Management System events/incidents or potential risks to the organization.Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference.Ensures confidentiality of all data and information that is private or sensitive.Performs any other related duties and responsibilities assigned by immediate superior consistent with the purpose of this role.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer.Preferably with experience in analysis & protection of power systems, automation, control, and protective relay testing.Must have at least 3 years of experience in handling works related to power system protection, automation, and control.Must have experience in designing protection systems for substations, switchyards, and transmission lines.Knowledgeable on electrical standards such as NEC/PEC, IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NFPA.Must have know-how in protective relay testing and technical specifications for protection systems.Must be knowledgeable in basic protection and coordination.Must be knowledgeable in teleprotection, automation, and control.Can supervise field electrical engineers at site and monitor site activities.1 vacant position in Astorga, Davao Del Sur.
