A Electrical ChiefDesign Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components, ensuring that projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the electrical design engineering team, ensuring efficient and effective project execution.Develop and oversee the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and automation.Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE standards).Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, etc.) to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs.Conduct feasibility studies, electrical load calculations, and risk assessments for projects.Oversee the preparation of detailed technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD and electrical design software.Review and approve electrical design documents, technical specifications, and project plans.Provide technical leadership in solving complex design challenges and troubleshooting electrical systems.Ensure project deliverables are completed within established timelines and budgets.Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.Stay updated with technological advancements in electrical systems, renewable energy, automation, and industry best practices.Mentor and train junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Extensive experience (8+ years) in electrical design engineering, preferably in sectors such as industrial, commercial, energy, or infrastructure.Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, Revit MEP, or similar).Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind, etc.) is a plus.Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with automation systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).Experience with power generation, high-voltage systems, and energy efficiency projects.Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and smart grid technologies.
