Full job description
The Auto Mechanic/Driver will be responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles and equipment, as well as transporting materials and personnel to and from job sites. This role requires a combination of mechanical expertise, driving skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on company vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues and electrical problems in vehicles and equipment, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and follow maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including service logs, inspection reports, and parts inventory.
Drive company vehicles to transport materials, tools, and personnel to job sites in a timely and safe manner.
Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating vehicles on public roads and job sites.
Assist with general labor tasks on job sites, such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials, as needed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and clients to coordinate transportation logistics and ensure timely delivery of materials and personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic/Driver in a construction or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing automotive and equipment issues.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, including familiarity with automotive systems and components.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for vehicle operation and maintenance.
Ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
