About the role: Key Responsibilities Financial: Meet individual underwriting expectations/targets to help team achieve budgeted financial objectives. Business Process: Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines. Develop a pipeline of new business and manage existing relationships. Identify target accounts and monitor progress against budget. Properly use the designated Underwriting system(s) to streamline underwriting. Provide support to our broker network in relation to assigned Financial Lines product. Maintain accurate files, registers and records. Assist in the implementation of business plans. Assist in training and mentoring of junior underwriters. Customer and Sales: Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting. Generate new business by expanding broker network. Provide training to brokers on FL products. Work with PCM and team to execute sales plan. Take responsibility for meeting individual new business targets. People: Liaise with Client Policy Servicing Team as policy and/or booking issues arise. Build relationships with brokers by attending and organizing regular broker events. Ensure customer-centric approach. Reporting/Compliance/Technical: Progress towards achieving minimum competency level as required. Gain an understanding of relevant legislation, policy coverage, insurance program structures. Ensure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities. What we're looking for: Prior Financial Lines experience; ideally, 2 years of underwriting experience. Technical Knowledge on Directors & Officers (D&O) or Management Liability Underwriting is a must. Strong communication and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and team-spirited approach. Time management - ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong analytical and technical skills. Ability to network and build relationships. Customer and sales focused.
