Contract: Full-time Consultant with concurrent position of Director of Operations Required hours: 8 hours/5d a week
Overview:
As the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the company's daily operational activities, ensuring that the business runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strategic thinker who can implement effective processes, manage a diverse team, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Director of Operations will collaborate with other senior leaders to achieve organizational goals and enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Manage and supervise the daily operations across all departments, plant sites and operating locations. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary. Strategic Planning:
Work with the executive team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with company goals. Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring adherence to financial plans. Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and inspire the operations team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for staff. Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the operations team and across departments. Process Improvement:
Analyze existing processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Leverage technology to streamline operations and reduce operational costs. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company operations. Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain operational integrity and compliance. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with senior leadership and other department heads to align operational strategies with business objectives. Represent the operations department in executive meetings and provide regular updates on operational performance. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in the renewable energy sector, having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong business acumen, and a passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Management, preferably a registered or professional engineer, with a Master's degree or MBA.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record of successfully managing complex operations and leading large teams.
