Job Description: As our Director of Finance, you'll have a rare opportunity to create and lead the finance team. Main Responsibilities: Manage Daily Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient management of financial transactions and records. Build and Lead the Finance Team: Recruit, train, and develop a skilled accounting team capable of meeting operational demands and maintaining high standards in financial management. Plan and Coordinate Financial Functions: Direct both operational and strategic accounting tasks, including the oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Prepare and Present Financial Statements: Generate monthly financial reports, analyze data, and deliver ad hoc financial insights that support informed decision-making. Ensure Tax Compliance: Manage tax filing processes, handle audits, and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and tax regulations. Automate Financial Processes: Lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes, including accounts payable, credit card transactions, bank reconciliations, sales, and inventory management. Develop Budgets and Forecasts: Create and manage financial budgets and forecasts, providing insights and ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Establish and Maintain Financial Controls: Implement and uphold internal financial controls that secure our growth. Optimize Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity, optimize the cash cycle, and maintain effective financial stewardship. Who You Are: Experienced Leader: You bring significant experience in a financial leadership role, with a CPA designation and a solid track record of strategic, results-driven accomplishments. Entrepreneurial Spirit: A go-getter with an entrepreneurial mindset who's laser-focused on achieving results. People-Centric: You're a natural leader, mentor, and communicator, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts and inspire your team. Process Innovator: You have experience in automating financial and accounting processes, especially in a manufacturing or high-growth environment. ERP Savvy: You're familiar with ERP systems and know how to leverage them for efficiency. Internal Controls Expert: You possess in-depth expertise in internal controls, particularly within sales, payroll, and inventory management cycles. Tax Knowledgeable: You have a strong understanding of tax requirements related to sales tax, withholding tax, and corporate income tax. Budgeting and Forecasting Experience: You bring valuable experience in creating budgets and financial forecasts that guide strategic decision-making. Compliance Guru: You're adept at navigating tax regulations and keeping us compliant with industry standards and requirements. Bilingual: Fluency in French and English is essential, ensuring clear communication across our team and stakeholders. MS Office Pro: You have advanced skills in the MS Office suite.
