Goals: As a Developer, your role involves collaborating with product owners to understand project requirements. You'll review these requirements and develop software solutions, including microservices and APIs, that provide integration between cloud and on-premises environments. Your expertise in SQL will be essential for managing and querying databases effectively as will your application coding knowledge to present the data to end users. Additionally, you'll ensure seamless integration between different systems to deliver high-quality, user-friendly products.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a development role, demonstrating proficiency in software development practices and methodologies. Proficiency in PHP and VB script or C# or C++ and at least one other scripting language such as JavaScript, Python or Perl. Proven experience in developing REST APIs, with a strong understanding of RESTful architecture principles. Extensive experience in designing and implementing scalable and reusable microservices for both RESTful and asynchronous communications. Demonstrated expertise in system integration, software development, API management, and data modelling, with insights into effective approaches and best practices. This includes familiarity with legacy integration techniques such as developing ETL routines and stored procedures. In-depth understanding of service integration concepts, particularly with RESTful services and SOAP-based web services. Hands-on experience with relational databases, including SQL, for data management and manipulation. Familiarity with the ServiceNow suite of products, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Service Portfolio Management (SPM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM), is advantageous but not compulsory. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration and interaction within teams and across stakeholders. Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative mindset for devising innovative solutions to complex challenges. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering effective communication and cooperation among team members. Responsibilities: Collaborate with technology and business groups to define system integration, API management, and data modelling designs and specifications, ensuring adherence to standardised practices, security and naming conventions for building reusable services. Ensure robust error handling and detection mechanisms are implemented within developed solutions to enhance reliability and resilience. Design, develop, and test code according to release schedules to achieve high-quality outcomes that address core business objectives. Implement integrations between internal and external systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Provide consideration to data security and access requirements for all work design and developed. Provide estimations based on business requirements, effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines to ensure success. Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation, to ensure clarity and accessibility of information. Gather technical requirements and propose solutions aligned with business needs to drive innovation and effectiveness. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
