We are hiring for a Database Manager for a client located in Ortigas.
This is onsite work in Ortigas and follows a regular Mon to Fri Work Schedule.
At least 10 years of Database Management experience is required for this position.
Solid Hands-on experience with MYSQL and MariaDB is non-negotiable.
As the Database Administrator Manager, you will report directly to the Senior IT Project Manager and assume a pivotal role in designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing, and maintaining the organization's databases.
You must ensure the data infrastructure's reliability, integrity, and security, demonstrating an elevated level of expertise and leadership within the database administration function.
You will also lead a team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical knowledge to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals.
Additionally, your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement database solutions that support the organization's strategic objectives and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10 years of progressive experience in Database Administration, with a strong emphasis on MySQL and MariaDB
- Hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and supporting databases in a high-transactional environment.
- Exhibit proficiency in SQL Language and advanced skills in SQL tuning.
- Proven experience in database performance tuning, optimization, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Expertise in replication configuration in MySQL and MariaDB environments.
- Apply critical thinking skills, collaborating effectively across teams, and providing leadership beyond immediate responsibilities.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL statements.
- Experience in handling very large volumes of data.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices in database administration.
- Provide leadership beyond immediate responsibilities, having management experience to lead and mentor a team, ensuring cohesive teamwork and alignment with organizational goals.
