Database Engineer - Ms Sql

LOCATION: Makati
WORK SETUP: Dayshift / Hybrid work setup (3 days onsite/2 days wfh)

EXPERIENCE:
•Graduate of BS ECE or BS IT/CS, or any related courses
•3 to 5 experience as database engineer or administration.
•Experience in MS SQL Server 2008 R2/2012 and MySQL, MySQL, Azure SQL, Azure SQL Manage Instance
•Experience in Azure cloud technology.
•Experience in SQL server maintenance plans/tuning.
•Knowledgeable in database automation
•Familiarity with database management best practices
•Knowledge of IT security best practices
•Proficient in data manipulation language
•Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems

JOB SUMMARY
The Database Engineer/Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and support of all MediCard Databases including troubleshooting of any issues that may arise. The post holder will work in an environment of continuous change while minimizing disruption to system users ensuring that all data is retrievable in an emergency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring and Maintenance:
•Ensure database integrity and optimize database systems performance reliability
•Develops and managed database security, backup and recovery plans.
•Responsible for installing, upgrading and configuration of DB Servers environment
•Create and manage user permission and access
•Ensure data integrity
•Test and monitor performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining IT Databases

Troubleshooting and Analysis:
•Performs in-depth root cause analysis of database problems
•Perform reports extraction and production end user support
•Ensures availability of Databases
•Perform Database administration support including troubleshooting, optimization and performance tuning.
•Ensures Database -related requests and incidents are resolved within the prescribed service levels.
•Assist with the deployment of infrastructure security measures.
•Interact with vendors, customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
