DATA SCIENTISTWHAT IS A DATA SCIENTISTOur awesome client, a leading IT company based in Australia is looking for a Data Scientist to be part of their IT team.The Data Scientist - Quantjoins our quant data scientist team and appliesmachine learning and statistical modellings to financial and risk managementproblems. These models include but are notlimited to pricing, risksegmentation and risk alerts.WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESWorking as part of an Agile team to investigate high volume transactional trading data & customer dimension data.Actively contribute to discussions about data flow design, model design and standard methodologyBeing hands-on in raw trading data and investigating unusual and interesting trendsEngaging closely with the Data Engineering team to develop & deploy models in production.Working effectively with stakeholders to develop and release solutions with a focus on clear interpretation and easy actioningProviding statistical evidence to communicate hypotheses and model projectionsAssistin championing initiatives to improve the scalability and robustness of our modelsWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FORQualifications in Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics and/or Applied FinanceSound knowledge of financial and trading marketsProficiency in Jupyter Notebooks, SQL, Python, PySpark, SageMaker or DataBricks/Snowflake/H20**A discernible passion for quantitative modeling**: especially around large-scale data processingKnowledge ofthe AWS technology stackExperience in analyzing large, complex multi-dimensional datasets and coming up with key actionable insightsExperience in driving projects end to end from analysis, experimentation,testing to productionProven financial modeling and risk management skillsA demonstrated ability to meet multiple competing deadlinesStrong problem-solving capabilities as well as the ability to adapt to changing and conflicting prioritiesAn understanding ofthe technology, use cases, and choices available across Data Processing (e.g. Spark, Flink), Data Workflows (e.g. Airflow, Luigi), Data Formats (e.g. Avro, Parquet, Arrow, protobuf) - DesirableExperience with MetaQuotes platform (desirable)Experience with backtesting framework (desirable)Ability to effectively collaborate with othersSound communication skills both verbal and writtenAbility to thrive in a nimble,fast paced environmentDATA SCIENTIST
