The Director of Curriculum and Professional Development will assist and coach teachers in effective instructional strategies and the selection of curriculum. Reports to the Head of School.
Qualifications: Have a vital, growing relationship with Christ.Be a regular member of their local church.Can agree wholeheartedly to the FIA statement of faith.An experienced classroom teacher.An understanding of the K-12 scope and sequence across the academic disciplines.A good grasp of cognitive development in K-12 students.The ability to collaborate with K-12 classroom teachers.The ability to develop meaningful professional development and training for adults.Master's degree in curriculum is preferred.Responsibilities: Complete accreditation requirements related to Curriculum, as outlined in the FIA School Improvement Plan (SIP).Provide annual reports to the Principal and/or Accreditation Board related to Curriculum goals and progress.Collaborate with the Executive Team in setting annual school goals related to Curriculum.Monitor and evaluate current trends in Education (i.e. Different philosophies of curriculum, Standards and Benchmarks, Assessment, technology integration, Biblical integration, etc.).Conduct a systematic curriculum review, including a review of Subject Philosophies, Standards and Benchmarks, and Instructional Materials. This review will follow the ACSI Curriculum Review schedule unless the Executive Team approves a deviation.Serve as an administrator and trainer for the Curriculum Trak mapping database and maintain current records of staff, course assignments, and standards and benchmarks within it.Research instructional materials and lead the annual textbook adoption process.Foster a close relationship with Faith Academy Manila and/or other like-minded schools in relation to the above activities.Design, conduct, and maintain records of teacher in-service days and the professional development program.Design, conduct, and maintain records of staff training related to curriculum, in collaboration with the Principal.Assist the Principal in the design and scheduling of the instructional program.Perform any other duties as agreed upon with the Executive Team.This role can be complemented with a teaching load if desired.
