Requisition Number: 98273  BASIC FUNCTION Position Overview The Credit Controller is responsible for promptly collecting payments, maintaining the accounts receivable ledger, and ensuring debt collection targets are successfully met. The Credit Controller ensures that all amounts due are collected according to agreed payment terms by using the most efficient methods whilst managing clients credit risk and limiting exposure to bad debts. The Credit Controller is also responsible for identifying overdue accounts and contacting clients in relation this, endeavouring to keep overdue debt to a minimum, and managing and resolving any incoming queries.
What you'll do at Insight Ensure timely collection of all debts and payments in accordance with Insight's credit control procedure and via appropriate communication methods Maintain regular and consistent contact with debtors and collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Client Services, and other teammates) to ensure: incoming invoices are cleared for payment, outstanding payments are collected, debtor accounts are monitored, and all queries are effectively resolved Negotiate payment schedules where necessary and encourage the early settlement of outstanding debt and escalate non-payment and insolvency cases for subsequent action subject to the appropriate authorisation Periodically review outstanding debts, recommend the write-off of small and or bad debts, and make provisions for handling doubtful debts following agreed processes and with appropriate authorisation Administer and maintain the aging profile and ensure collection targets are successfully achieved Reconcile nominated client accounts and maintain accuracy of client account balances using the appropriate systems Ensure reporting requirements on nominated client accounts are adhered to. Review held orders and release within agreed service level agreements (SLAs), and operate specified 'stop' and 'release' activities on client accounts in line with the clients purchase order (PO) policy Assist the Credit & Collections team by suggesting and implementing improvements to reporting and procedures including documenting all existing processes and procedures Ensure compliance with relevant audits, regulations, and legislation by determining the impact of any changes and taking required action where necessary What you'll need to join Insight Working towards a recognised qualification A basic financial awareness and knowledge of credit assessment and collection techniques High level of written and spoken English Experience of working within a statutory legal and/or regulatory framework Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) Good working knowledge of using computerised accounting systems Ability to assume responsibility for assignments and to perform them in accordance with minimal supervision Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers and senior members across the organisation, and external stakeholders Ability to build and establish cooperative working relationships both internally and externally Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload, including coordinating with others to ensure statutory and other deadlines and targets are met Experience of preparation and development of monthly reports Good interpersonal skills and communication skills – ability to liaise with teammates at all levels The position described above provides a summary of some the job duties required and what it would be like to work at Insight.
