What You'll Bring: Law Degree acquired from an Esteemed UniversityQualified lawyer admitted to practice law in the Philippines5-10 years of solid experience with a reputable Law Firm or Multinational BusinessExperience in contract drafting is a mustKnowledge in intellectual property, technology, data privacy, business and corporate laws is a mustKnowledge in regional laws and company secretarial matters would be an advantageAn adventurous spirit and an inquisitive mind: passion in innovation and courage to take on new challengesAbility to handle high demands and pressure with a positive attitude in a challenging environmentA team player with strong interpersonal skills & commercially savvyDesire to learn new business and upskill legal knowledgeAbility to work independently and self-motivated with minimal supervisionFluency in both spoken and written EnglishImpact You'll Make: The Legal Counsel will be responsible for enhancing compliance by all business units of legal requirements and corporate policies, promoting awareness of relevant legal and compliance requirements generally and minimizing legal risks in business operations and new ventures. Provide legal support for all business units in the region. Specific requirements include:
Provide legal support to TransUnion's strategic planning in the region and implementation and identify and minimize pertinent risks involvedProvide legal support and guidance to establish new businesses in the region, contracts with partners, and advice on the setup of new TransUnion entities to support expansionProvide legal support to management and business units on all aspects of business operations already set up in the region and ensure such operations comply with local laws and regulatory provisionsReview and act as gatekeeper for all agreements entered into by the company in accordance with corporate requirementsCoordinate and liaise with privacy commissioners, monetary authorities, banking associations, and regulatory authorities in the region in all business activitiesAct as liaison and point of communication between local sites in the region and Corporate LegalManage outside counsel in the giving of legal advice and act as gatekeeper between outside counsel and business unitsManage Compliance team on all aspects of providing legal and compliance support to business operations in the regionEnhance corporate governance in the region by organizing training and raising awareness of staff in local sites and promoting compliance cultureOversee all internal and external compliance auditsThis is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
